1970 N96 fresh air install question

Can ya'll help me please with the install for the air duct work? 1970 coronet N 96 aftermarket 3 piece kit from classic industries. there are no assembly instructions. So i need some help.

questions-

Do you assemble all three pieces before attaching to the hood?

Do you have to use the rivets? or can you use bolts or screws

any assembly lessons I should know that you have learned.

Did you ever solve the hood problems? I am thinking of changing from the fiberglass hood single scoop to the R/T hood and scoops I came across. What else is required besides the 3 piece underhood box kit? Air cleaners, seals etc...?

Hey Joe, sorry I just saw this. The kit i got from classic industries. its apx 600.00

There are a few things you need beside just the basic air box kit you buy from classic industries.
additionally you will need
1) the seal that goes between the air box and the metal of the hood. apx 20.00
2) the seal that goes around the air cleaner that seals to the air box when you shut the hood. 99.00
3) pull-cable and "carb air" handle that mounts inside the car. ( the kit only comes with the short cable that opens the trap doors) 100.00
4) the hardware kit to mount it all. 40.00

its expensive! Hope this helps. Good luck with the car. Gonna be SAWEET when its done

You also need an N96 hood. The underhood bracing is different from a regular flat hood; the flat hood bracing will interfere with the fresh air components. Several months ago I was looking into converting my flat hood but backed off when I realized the bracing had to be modified. You could still add the hood scoops just for show.

Hmmm, I have done several of these hoods over the years, using a flat hood. I have done them on both 70 coronets, and 69 coronets. Although, I saw a few slight differences, nothing that would stop me. All of these that I have done in my body shop, all the customer's were happy.
 
The Ramcharger hood is my all time favorite hood. That being said: If i were adding it to a car I wouldn't bother with all the stuff that is needed to make it correct on the underside. Too expensive and not enough performance gain.
