1970 Plymouth Satellite model RH41

Looks great! I bet that car will be alot of fun

hope so... so far just a lot of work.
This ought to make it fun.
I'm going to go pickup a '97 magnum 360 engine to freshen up and replace the 318.

port fuel injected 360 engine for the Satellite

You never know what to expect when getting parts from an unknown, this time it worked out good.
I got the 1997 360 cu in. port injected engine with the wiring and engine control unit, sensors all but the O2's
sweet deal.
I was able to help take the engine out which was a good deal too.
what a nice upgrade, roller cam, swirl port heads and a few more cubic inches.
This will be a challenge to get setup on the Dyno but wouldn't want to do it any other way.
Dyno testing any engine before installing {if at all possible} is the best way to go and time well spent.

I am amazed at the condition of the bore and pistons.

images for insurance

The Satellite is just about finished so I e-mailed images to my insurance agent and have it insured under the Chrome policy for Classic autos cost for a year full coverage $102. at a value of 6500.00.
I drove the car about a 100 miles in the last few days, she runs great and a real head turner. Total cost for my mild restore on the car not including my labor including the price of the car is about 4300.00.
The doors got new window wipes and I installed new channel in the division bars of all the doors, I got the parts to do this from J. C. Whitney, quality parts and free shipping.
If a person doesn't get carried away "over restoring" it doesn't have to take years and 10's of thousands of dollars to build a nice Mopar. To finish the car I need to water test and seal the glass and install the revel moldings and cut and buff the clear coat. The 318 runs strong which is good since the fuel injected 360 will have to wait, I have a 73 Charger to get to work on next.

Great car and build! Like you say: It shows what can be done on a budget.

I think the car came out great, and I'd be happy to drive around in a car like that!

Test drive for the Satellite

Thanks Hawk and Dave.
in the 80's when I was a painters helper we would do a couple completes a month on cars and pickup like this. We wouldn't go to the effort to take off the door handles trim and moldings. I masked everything possible sanded, washed with 3812 and gave them a couple coats of enamel.
done deal.
Then the standards and quality got more demanding as the imports started to come to the US and bringing the clear coat paints.
For a daily driver this job will be best not having to worry about every little chip and door ding, Just get out and enjoy what old mopar's are all about, driving them!
I've done several over the top type builds and there is a place for them but for the most part they sit in a garage and collect dust.
This one was much more fun to do.
Got the rest of the trim on the car and took her for another drive. All is good for now.
