1970 Satellite 4-door

Brings back memories of me cruising around in my '69 Sport Satellite 4 door when I was a kid. Thanks for updates! Looks great.

Just waiting to get my garage built so I can get onto mine. I've owned a lot of cars over the years, but that's the only one I've been able to hang on to.
 
That's a good looking four door.
 
Just saw this thread and wanted to say hello and what a nice job your doing on the Satellite.I saw your videos on youtube from Mopars at the patch and Englishtown. I wanted to thank you for those. I have the blue 68 GTX that was on track at those events. None of my friends that were there with me bothered to take the time to video my runs, so again thank you.
 
Wow, I never saw the original post but your satty's come a long way in the past year. Looking good and '70 is definitely my favorite year for em. Welcome back to the forum! Lol

ah, that makes me SO happy!! you have one GORGEOUS bird! Love the black on black on black look so much! I almost painted mine black but they didn't think the body was going to be straight enough to "pull it off" so my dad ended up picking the Vitamin C and I just ran with it. I love the orange now but the body came out better than we thought and sometimes I still wish we'd done it black.

I'll definitely try not to be a stranger and to post around more now that I'm back. :)
 
Hey thanks mylil70sat! Black does look good on these old musclecars, but your dad steered you in the right direction...#1, that orange looks great on your Plymouth. Goes well with the body lines. IMHO, Vitamin C is the best orange hue out there.#2, the prep work and up keep on black can be a real pain in the rear. The plus side of a black paint job is that I do get to spend a lot of quality time with the car, washing it every time I turn around..lol
 
That's a really nice Satellite! You accomplished a lot on that car. It brought back memories of my 1970 Satellite 4Dr. I was driving sround in the early 90's. Mine was a Slant 6 car, and had a really neat factory color combo. White paint, Black vinyl top, and a blue interior. What part of PA are you in?

Yup, still got it. I really enjoyed that car in my high school years. Haven't driven it since then. Just an unusual enough combo, too, that I won't part with it or part it out. Factory 383 4bbl '69 Sport Satellite 4 door, Q5, Magnum 500's. The car still has all it's dated coded parts (except the carb...long story). Govier's white books that I borrowed didn't list the four doors, but the other body styles for the Sport show about thirty each listed with 383 4bbl. Figure about the same for the four door. I've talked to a lot of guys in the hobby and no one remembers ever hearing about a factory equipped 383 4bbl Sport, let alone seeing one. It may never be worth Hemi car prices (like I'd sell it!) but, to me, it's enough of a novelty that it's worth bringing back to life.

It's because of that, when I see a car like yours on the street or at a show, I make a bee line for it. Glad to see you keepin' this car around. The four doors may be "popular" in the A-body circles (guys build 'em all the time), but it seems they get over looked in the B-body circles. If I had a nickle for everyone who told me to part it out and build a two door... or take the power train out and find a "worthy" Road Runner, my finances would be taken care of for life.

I'm happy to see the other B-body fans chiming in on how awesome your car is.

Oh my, the car sounds so awesome! That combo is insane, never let it go! I don't think I'll ever let mine go, either, unless I desperately had to.

And I agree, if I'm out somewhere, even without my car, and I see another 4-door that you don't see much of I'll automatically go straight for it! haha Even online if I see someone post one on the forums or facebook or something, I love it!

You and I would both have a lot of nickles because I can't tell you how many times since I've gotten it I've heard the same from people! "Oh, it's just a parts car!" There were a few times people said stuff at shows to my face and it's like, really?! how rude can you be?! If I walked up to a Road Runner's owner and told 'em they're better off junking it (which I never would of course) wouldn't the owner be offended?? Just because mine's a 4-door doesn't mean I don't love it as much as a RR owner loves their car. Plus, I always say they make enough aftermarket panels and everything for 2-door cars now-a-days that we should just save all the 4-doors that are restorable because they're classics, too, and deserve the same love and restoration as any other classic!

roadrunnerh, oooh, so cool! I'd love that combo! Mine was originally white (and has green interior), was going to go back to white in the beginning, too, but decided against it. I'm from just east of Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, in the tri-state (PA, NJ, NY) area! In the Poconos! No one ever knows my town so I always name Scranton and Wilkes-Barre because people know them! haha


Propwash, oh yes, I know black cars well! haha I have an '09 Charger that's my daily driver and absolutely ridiculous to keep clean!
