Working on my dash at the moment.
I haven't read you post recently but have a few questions. You may have addressed my questions already.
-How did you clean up the woodgrain bezel? Mine has some surface discoloration. i would like to improve it.
-What did you use to repaint the edge of the gauge tunnels silver? Some kind of pen i am guessing.
-Did you repair or replace the headlight and wiper switch's? Were you able to test them?
-Did you test your gauges?
I purchased it, link below, and combined it with an old 12v scooter battery I had laying around. Set it to just below 5v to keep from damaging the gauge and then slowly lowered the voltage to test the range of the gauge.did you make your own power supply?
Been 50s at night and 70s 80s here in Ohio. Suck Summer weather, too cool to swim, just sucks. Winter will be here too soon.Looking good. Yes. This heat has been unbearable down here in Louisiana this year. The humidity just kills.
Same, humidity it’s nuts here in Oklahoma but at least it’s not Louisiana humid!Looking good. Yes. This heat has been unbearable down here in Louisiana this year. The humidity just kills.

When my body guy was doing the car I had him leave the trunk floor unpainted so I could give it a try later (like learning how to plaster in a bedroom closet back in the day).
It’s was sort of cool yesterday morning so I gave it a whirl. Had to wear a long sleeve and wrap my head in rags to keep from dripping sweat on it!

I am following all your adviseI gently cleaned the wood grain with soap, water and a toothbrush and then treated with a detailing spray. That brought the grain back.
I painted the gauge and vent bezels with a chrome paint pen I found on Amazon based on other folks who had success: Molotow Liquid Chrome Marker Set... Amazon product ASIN B074JJ1YMY
I bought a new headlight switch at my local auto parts store (perfect match). I repainted the knobs with a petty blue model paint.
I tested the wiper switch with a multimeter and tested all the gauges with a variable power supply. Tested the speedo by chucking a drill onto the transmission end of the cable.
Ok. Now I way to look at my column more closely. I am missing pieces at the bottom. That white bearing spacer looking piece. And that wire retainer that I assume keeps the roll pin from just falling out. Finally got the steering column reassembled today. Still need to refinish the steering wheel, but I’ll take the progress!

The white piece, at least for a floor shift car, is actually just a retainer for a foam seal.Ok. Now I way to look at my column more closely. I am missing pieces at the bottom. That white bearing spacer looking piece. And that wire retainer that I assume keeps the roll pin from just falling out.
