Hi

Does anyone know the correct model carter carb for 1971 383 4 spd cuda

There is also a #R6191 listed w/o fresh air hood. No notes why the different carb. California possibly?

This is from the 1971 Maintenance Manual
HOLLEY Model 4160 Series 4-Barrel Carburetor.
383 Manual trans. HOLLEY R-6191A what they call HEATED AIR.
383 Manual trans. HOLLEY R-6193A what they call FRESH AIR.

Hope it helps you out.

4160 model R4667 without fresh air hood. R4734 with fresh air hood.

Not to stir up a hornets nest here, but where did you find those carburetor numbers for a 1971 383 4 speed car.
Just for me to know, where they were from.
Thank's.

Would you have info for 1970 Holley Carb

My Carter reads K3 6125S

Carter Carburetor 6125S 1970 1971 Dodge Plymouth 383 HP Auto Transmission. It even has the neat little copper tag. I don't know what the cfm is.

So what's right for my '71 Charger 500 383 hp AT? When you say fresh air I'm guessing that means some kind of hood air intake

Yes the Dealers replaced them because those Holley carbs originally came with cork gaskets that would shrink and start to leak fuel.

My experience many years ago. Ford products with 4 barrels and Holley were prone to having a backfire causing a fire under the hood. An acquaintance with a 59 Sunliner 361 4 barrel convertible burnt his sheepskin coat putting the fire out.
