Called the MV department in Texas and they told me that CT. is a title state and I must have a title to transfer this car. I know CT. is a pain because I use to live there and you always have to stand in line for hours, but this car would of been sold by now if you had the title.

Connecticut is not a title state to register an old car; not sure where u got this info from unfortunately. I have registered several old cars over the years; 1966 chevy impala (car came from New York), street legal 1966 chevy nova race car (car originally came from New Hampshire) and currently this 1971 charger all without titles. Ct requires a Bill of sale and registrations from previous owner along w/insurance to register the car. May also need to do a Vin check if car came from out of state also before they will allow u to register. Just want to make sure the facts are correctly stated. Should have no problem registering this car as it has been registered & insured since i have owned the car. As I stated, i am more then willing to help whoever purchases the car help to get a title if they choose; i know alot of people go through state of vermont for this process as its much easier and then just transfer it back to their home state. Trying to upfront and as honest as possible. Really like to see car go to a new garage and get used. Its just sitting in my garage with car cover not being used. Maybe my fault is I'm being too honest but that's how I've always been.

You are both correct! From the Connecticut DMV website:

Unfortunately without a title, you have limited your potential buyers to those that will be registering the vehicle in the State of Connecticut.

Guess I am too honest of a person. Connecticut is not the only state where you can register a car with a bill of sale and a registration from the previous owner (for cars over a certain age);
Not sure why everyone is arguing with me when I'm just trying to give someone a really great deal. My father's health is way more important to me at this point then any car. I going to continue to value the time i have left and appreciate it because it you never know if its gonna be my last times with him.
When I listed the car, I stated I am more then willing to help whoever purchases the car to get a title if they choose. I have been upfront with stating that the prices is very negotiable and would really love to see it go to new home for the summer. The car is sitting waiting for new home. If it comes down to it, I will just take it down to one of the local dealerships and sell it to them if I have to; really dont want to because would rather see it go to someone in the mopar community who's looking for something thats not gonna break the bank.

There are legal title options for those who are savvy and patient, but some people aren't.

Could be a fun deal with my kids but halfway across the country and I'd probably offend you with what I could pay.

What’s the process for getting the title? This car looks like a good base to build on and I may consider an offer but you will need a proper title to sell it. Also keep in mind what transporting will cost as that’s going help determine what may be offered.

Car is still for sale; a title can be had by the new owner as their are services out their that can help with this process; alot of people go through state of vermont for this process as i have stated in a previous post. According to who i talked to on phone today at dmv, i could apply for title but this process would take up to 6 months minimum which is something i dont have time for unfortunately. (Person stated that they necessarily wouldnt grant one though)
Just would like to see the car go to a new home. Car comes with all the parts as seen in photo's also; over $2,000 in parts. I am willing to sign paperwork so new owner can get a title in their home state if need be. Car is a blast to drive and gets looks wherever it goes (when it was taken out prior; car is now started up occasionally in garage but unfortunately do not have the time to drive it anymore).

Figured their would be some real interest besides the scammers. Someone looking for a nice b-body 71 charger they can get in and cruise. Plus make some extra money selling the parts on the side.

Not without a title... I've made it a point never to buy a car w/o one unless its for parts. Sure the "new owner" can get whatever but the instant that car changes hands the battle becomes harder for whoever gets it. Not trying to piss in anyone's Wheaties but not having the title (at least for me) is a deal breaker because the title insures ownership and without it there is no proof that the seller had a right to sell it.

Shouldnt have any issues as long as u have all the correct paperwork; never have had any issues here in CT and have purchased several from out state in past; guess CT is more lenient then other states. If push comes to shove, will just sell car to one of local dealers. They will gladly purchase car as i stated and can easily get a title for it as they have time. Just was trying to avoid this and see car go to someone who would actually be able to use it.

Unfortunately my dad is not doing the greatest and tired of scammers sending me garbage; Asking $10,000 for car and all the parts. Would really love to see car go to good home.
