FOR SALE 1971 Plymouth Road Runner, loaded project

This car is a major project but would be a beautiful car when done. It's rough and rusty most everywhere, and is missing the hood, motor, and trans, as well as numerous small parts.

The floors on the passenger side have heavy surface rust, the driver's side would have to be replaced for sure, as well as trunk floor. It also needs to be repaired above the windshield where it rusted due to the vinyl top. Frame rails and torsion bar mount appear to be good. Cowl and inner fenders look good except for a small spot beside the hood hinges. Doors are usable but most all of the sheet metal needs some work or replaced.

The good part is that it's loaded with options. Check out the fender tag. 383 auto with a/c. Disc brake front end and sure grip rear end. B5 blue outside with 2 tone blue interior, white canopy roof and stripes, front and rear spoilers. Bucket seats and console with console mounted tape player, 150 mph speedo and tach, decour package, etc...

It will be sold with a set of Rallye wheels. The Road wheels shown in the pics were borrowed to transport the car. I have a clear MO title to it, and am asking $4500. If you are seriously interested I have many more pics I can email.

Partial vin shows 71 but has 72 up marker lights in body. Anybody have a clue to that one?

Here are pics of the driver's side front and rear markers. The ones on the passenger side are the same..'71 for sure..Car has been painted on here and there but I think it still has the original fenders on it. The quarters are for sure the originals..header panel has been changed..

just a headsup there,its very valuable,
esp if the microphone version able to record.
do you have the entire unit or Just that housing?

and,i kinda wondered too,why that guy was insisting its a 72.
im blind and could see that its a 71.

Going price for driver quality is $250 for the deck +50 for the mic and another 150 to 250 for the "pod".

Note the pod is standard DIN size width and will accept a modern DIN chassis stereo.

How far ahead of the times was all that?

Unfortunately, all I have is the housing. I'm sure I could sell it for some decent $$$ but it really needs to go with the car I think. It would be a shame to part the car out any more. I just missed getting the hood by about a month, almost didn't get the seats but I was just in time...

No idea on the '72 thing...
