ok guys this is what im faced with , my satellite/roadrunner has a dash from a 75 in it, i have the dash frame from a 73 charger which is the same as the 71 so its appropriate, i also have the whole ralley instrument cluster minus the tach. now i have a painless wiring system in the car and this ralley instrument set does not have any wire circuit boards or lights in it, can someone send me a pic of what the back of a complete ralley instrument cluster is suppose to look like? and how can i hook up my painless to this so i dont burn anything up?

O.K. here's what the back of a non-ralley dash looks like....

Ralley dashes need a different wiring harness.

hmm so i do need a circuit board for my ralley dash.......
No, the ralley dash doesn't use a circuit board. It needs a different harness to work with the ralley cluster.

I've never used a painless wiring system, so I can't really give you any info on the best way to wire it. :(

I just posted a listing from Craigs List, the guy has a lot of parts that you are looking for including a 71 Ralley Cluster and he may have all the wiring you need. He is in Buffalo, NY

Where is this posting located? Being my painless wires are all labled i cant just hook directly to the guages correct?

See "Tons of RR parts"

If your Painless Harness is labled, and you have it for behind the dash, you should be able to just wire it right to the rally dash. Most of the connections on it are either eye connectors of a single push on. For the headlights or wiper switch, you will need the correct plug, but I'm pretty sure they are the same for both dashes. The wiper switch KNOB and switch itself is different, so be ready for that, the knob is not cheap, and just been reproduced in the last couple of years. Good luck with it and let us know how it goes. If you have trouble figuring it out, give us a yell, I'm sure there are some wiring diagrams floating around here. I have the 71 service manual on here, but it's too large to upload without an FTP site to send it to.

ok buck sounds good so just to clarify i can hook up each gauge with its corresponding wire directly but now the question is how do i light the instruments??? haha the holes are there but no lights?? I HATE ELECTRICAL WORK:eusa_wall:

The holes for the instument lights are for push-in style lights (or pig-tail bulbs) Those probably didn't come with the painless wire harness you have.
You'll have to look for them elsewhere.

i think i know what those look like so i can set this up without a circuit board then hmmm i like =, im thinking orange leds being my interior is black and the car is orange hehehehe
