1971 Satellite time capsule Car Port Find

oh no not another one. Found this 71 Satellite Belvedere / Satellite RH2301 that was cloned into a Road Runner many many years ago. Clone work includes a working Rally tac dash, correct steering wheel and dash insert RR emblem. All the patina was included at no extra charge. The car still has the original spare tire that looks like new and the original trunk mat. 318 with the original carb, original radiator, working AC and power disk brakes. I believe I'm the 3rd owner and it's sat for several years. Just brought her home tonight and what appears to be rust in the pictures in dirt and gunk. You can hardly see out the windows because of all the gunk.
The best thing is it came with all the original manuals and documentation including the original bill of sale that shows they paid $4,190 for the cal with $92 in tax and traded in a 1968 Satellite for $1,890. The car starts and runs so going to start with a good cleaning and all new brake cylinders and complete brake flush in the morning then going for a little cruse

cleaned the corner of one fender

When I picked it up yesterday we let it run for a few minutes and it kept stalling and was hard to restart. It did run long enough to drive it ourt of the guys garage and onto the trailer. He said he just put 5 gallon of fresh gas in the tank. Well the 2 hour ride on the trailer must have splashed the tank around a bit. It wouldn't start today and I just drained about 8 gallons of the nastiest dark piss yellow gas out of the tank that I've ever seen just drained the gas from the tank. It was the color of one of those early morning pee sessions or the one when you haven't drank enough water all day.........you guys know that color. Oh, and I have a new tool on my wish list.......a siphon tube. That gas taste terrible but at least I had a good excuse to have a beer.....or two....

This picture is the first corner I cleaned and it took bug and tar remover and goo gone and lots of elbow grease. This thing is a mess

Towing with my 2011 Citadel Hemi Durango. Best darn SUV in the world. I wound up about 185K miles on my 2008 Hemi Durango and got this Citadel. Really like the adaptive cruse control and the heated steering wheel.

Archie340, I've never been into clones either and I'm neck deep in restoring my original 72 GTX. There's something special about this car that I haven't figured out yet. I'm only the 3rd titled owner and it sat for 10 - 15 years and whoever cloned it did it a long long time ago. It's a 318 car, still has the original 2 barrel carb, 8 1/4 rear end, no sway bars but the hood matches what appears to be the original paint and the RR steering wheel and the RR in the dash look original. Guess a lot can happen to a car over 44 years. The body is crazy rock solid.

I replaced the gas tank, rebuilt the 2 barrel and it runs and drives great. Could use a front suspension refresh but I think I'm going to leave it alone. The plan is to drive it for a while during the restoration of my GTX then sell it. It's the most solid 71-72 body I've seen in a long long time.
My daughter was home from school for Thanksgiving and I came walking out of the garage with a big box. She was surprised that I just happened to have a brand new 1971 gas tank in the garage.........

yes, same car, The GTX project is eating my lunch and I don't have anywhere to keep it. I love the car and I'm not taking any of the ridiculous low balls and I kinda hope it doesn't sell. My plan will be to fix the rust and only touch up the paint in those areas and drive it. Getting numbers on a 30 X 40 garage in my back yard so I can fill it with these great cars.
