Good morning. I'll soon be swapping out the stock 8 1/4 for an 8 3/4 rear in my '73 Charger. I have an 8 3/4 from a '72 Charger, and I will be eliminating the iso pads. Do I need to ditch the current shock mounts and find ones from a '72? I've heard they may be different.

Also, will this alter the ride-height in the rear?

Yes. The u-bolt pattern is different on the 73-up.

Is that the only difference?
Pretty much, you might have to replace the spring pins if using the original springs. The 73-up is 4-1/2" x 3-1/2" vs 3" x 3-12"

The extra width is needed due to the isolators. Should be able to find a set pretty easily.

I'll be getting new springs from ESPO, but I've already let them know it's for a 73 Charger with a 72 rear end. Sounds like the 72 mount plates are all I need. That's good news. Thanks for the help.

Turns out a buddy of mine had a pair. Score! Now, I just need the SG pig, and I should be in business.
