1973-1974 Roadrunner & GTX and Satellite Pic Thread

Hello all this is my first post. I've been reading these forums for a few years and this 73-74 Roadrunner thread finally convinced me to join up. Here's a couple of crappy photos I had on my computer. If anyone would like to see more please let me know and i'll pull the camera out and see what I can do.

Thanks for looking
Jeff

Oh man! That is a beauty right there! I have to say I think that color combo on this year (73-74) is maybe if not my favorite. I love all the color options they had but I have to say I really love white on these cars.

Post up some more pics and tell us more about the Roadrunner. Also welcome to the board and stop by the welcome section and tell everyone hi. Great looking Roadrunner, man I want one bad!

i have a big soft spot for Judges and GS's. freakin torque monsters!!

went for a ride in a '70(?) GS stage 2 (granny driven for 35 years mind you!!) until John (granny's son) got ahold of it!! blastin' down the back roads of DeKalb IL @ 110+, i gotta give respect where respect is due!!!

THAT was a something ill never forget!

I agree with you I love them as well and the GS cars. I like the GSX cars as well those were some wild looking cars and great on torque and power.

Granny knew how to pic a great car and color! Lucky grandson as well lol.

Yea, who couldn't like the Judge, 69 i would prefer over others but great cars, never owned one, rode in some raced some maybe, to far back to remember all of that young-n-dum things we used to do, but fun to think back on those days! Good night gentlemen...

I like the 69 GTOs as well first year for the rubber front bumper. I remember looking for a front bumper for my 70 GTO and at that time it wasn't reproduced and I was looking at high prices for one. I can't remember what I figured out on how to fix it. I love hearing old car stories from back in the day.

Hi Jeff and Welcome and w love car **** the more the better. Is that a GTO Judge wing on the rear? Post up all the pictures you want

Great looking Judge! I have a soft spot for 70 GTOs I owned one and wish I never sold. The only rust problem was lower 1/4s and dirvers door and it need a full pump. Car ran long enough to get it off the trailer and then I sold it to a friend and went back to work on a 70 SCJ Cobra Jet Drag pack Torino. I finshed that one and got to work on my Coronet R/T but never got it finished. I need to post pics of the Torino lol that was a fun car and the tac in it (ribben tac) was crazy.

It wouldnt be a buick GSX spoiler would it?

No it is a Factory Judge spoiler GSX were a little different.

View attachment 93961Here's another --just bought 73 GTX Roadrunner 440, 52k miles, always garaged.

One repaint and rechromed bumpers. Very original car. I have most of the trim tag decoded and also have the original window sticker.

Here is a small video i did one day sitting and having a sandwich (wife delivered dinner then stole my truck lol), The Malibu in the other drive way is my wife's old car, thats my Ram going up the road.. I was putting some things on my car at this time and my radio in the car had the battery kind of almost dead, watch the lights in dash, that will show you a little of what they look like when i rev it up.. They are brighter when battery's up but this almost didn't start that afternoon.. We'll talk you into a 73,74 maybe anyway :) This isint to long i was just trying to hurry to get my wife leaving for a joke with her.

I owned this car years ago, the white interior and moon roof were the selling points for me....I miss that moon roof sigh...sigh...sigh...LOL
The car also had a heavy flake in the paint which made it stand out...really stand out LOL.

I really like those lights in the dash! Also I'm watching the other videos you have of the Runner! I really like it man and looking out over the hood I think it may be one of the best hoods produced in the 70s.

Love the white cars! I saw your car in the photo sections thanks for posting it looks great and you did a great job on it. Tell us more about it.

Hey Ron I think this video may have talked me into it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yyv3BAB9njU and I love the song playing in the background. I remember when it came out lol.

I did find two 1940 Plymouths today one a car and one a truck. The truck is a mess but would like to have the cab and fenders and get a frame for it, would make a great hot rod. Also the 40 plymouth car would as well.

I'm thinking that 73 Roadrunner I've been thinking of would make a great project/driver and mod it out and have some fun type of car.

PS I did put it on my Christmas wish list lol <---holding breath on that but you never know what Santa might dropp off.

While on it guys I wish you all happy and Merry Christmas.

So that's what my white one is gonna look like when I get my RR hood on it.

For that 40 truck...5.2 liter Dakotas can be had fairly cheap and would be a great "drop on" chassis for that rod project.

...and a member here is tyring to see a really nice original paint, red 73 Sebring with road wheels for 4K.

Thanks I wasn't sure what frame to drop it on if I got. I wish I had 4k. I keep looking around at cars and thinking what I want to do next. I kind of want to mod something and I don't want to do that to something that is real (Superbee, Roadrunner, GTX, R/T) from the 60s to 72. I think the 73 Roadrunner fits the bill to mod and enjoy.

The truck I was given I would do a lot of different ideas on that one. I just kind of want a hot rod. I also know of a Ray Barton race Hemi for sale I think 6k. I just got to wait until school is done (June or July) and see what I find. The 73 Roadrunner has been for sale for a year or more and if he met my offer I would put it in my garage.

Hey Rebel that is a nice looking truck. Is that one a 75? You're making it hard on me to choose truck or Roadrunner...I did find a 78 Dodge long bed 2x4 truck for $500.00obo I may call the guy and see if I can pick it up for 200.00. It has a 318 in it and only rust in the passenger side of the bed. I also found a 47 and 48 Dodge four door that would make a great hot rod. I got to stop looking at cars lol and either do the truck and or buy the Roadrunner. I love the Roadrunner.

It's a 72 with a 318 stroker motor that was built by a guy I know when they first started building them. I sold in in 07 It's one of those I should have kept.

It was a nice looking truck and I bet it ran great! Its hard to decide on what to do go with the truck build or buy the 73 Roadrunner...I'm thinking both right now. I got time on the Roadrunner it hasn't sold in a year or over a year so I dont think its going any where.

wow! is that Petty Blue? (if it's not, my apologies, im a 73 GTX noob! lol)

love it!
