1973 8.25 rear end - build it up or ??

Looking to throw in a posi unit to my one wheel peel unit.

Car has a 318/904 mild build .. Looking to add bits and pieces, mane a Paxton pro charger potentially hitting the 400hp. mark.

The rear is original with 70000 on her in great shape.

It's easier for me to just throw in a posi rather than source a 8.75 as I'm NYC and parts here are scarce ..

Probably way cheaper ..

Any feedback is appreciated..
 
Eventually you will upgrade to a 8.75 or dana. If the need for speed is in your blood, you will be upgrading. If you do what most people do in pursuit for more HP, you will eventually switch out the 318 for a BB. So either do it in stages or go big the first time, whatever your budget allows.
 
Looking to stay with the 318 .. Building a peppy daily driver ..

No need to hit the 400 mark but would be nice to say I did.

PowerTrax makes a street oriented locker that I have used and is quiet and VERY easy to install. Took about a half hour to put in a C-clip axle like an 8.25". I have never used or installed an Eaton so I cannot compare to the above suggestion.
 
i'm surprised you can't find a 8 3/4 for that car
in the tristate area.
there are alot of parts in ct and pa and even long island
they are all only a few hours away from you.

Been looking on Craigslist - not nothing ... Ha. But I did just meet someone that in my area that has a ton of parts and has rears .. So I might be in luck
