1973 plymouth RR Window Fuzzies

I'm restoring a 1973 plymouth roadrunner/satellite and need a new set of window fuzzies/cat whiskers/sweeps what ever you prefer to call them.... However I recently purchased a set off of eBay and they were PUI brand and we didn't even get one in place and knew it wouldn't work. Around the rear quarter windows along the outside of the car, it's made of the felt material and the stainless strip instead of rubber like the originals so water is going to come pouring in. As well as adding that it doesnt seal to where it is meant to go so there is a pretty big gap. Also it's only half as thick as the originals. Any help where I can find a good set would be awesome. I'm on a budget and don't have time for people like PUI sending me stuff that isn't going to work. I know it's not the sellers fault but its the manufacture. Thanks so much

That's what I used. She over did a lot of stuff. It was a lot easier and faster than what you would suspect. You'll find short cuts as you go, just remember how everything goes back together

Restoration specialities. I got a set on the way from Dave, as I had the same problem, ended up with a crap set from another supplier. Restoration specialities are supposed to be spot on factory reproduction. And they must be good, because steel rubber referred me to them.

Year one sells two versions of the same part. The cheaper ones ($135) do not have the stainless trim that at least my originals had. The more expensive ones ($195 or so) are correct and were far superior to the cheaper ones I eventually returned. They went in quick and were not cut up straight pieces "bent" to make the rear window trims....

The YR1 pieces I got looong time ago got me REALLY dissapointed. After I met Top Catwiskers brand decided go with them. Not mounted on my car yet, but pretty soon.

trust me...

I can't find the manufacturer website right now, but several vendors offers them ( Dantes is one of them ). I had to go straight with manufacturer because 73/74 Chargers were backordered on all sellers due lack of material for the quarter outer fuzzies. I had to wait for manufacturer to get them made.

Still looking for a decent set. Now that winter is here I have a lot of time to search for a set. Does anyone have any pictures of the reproductions actually on their car around the outside of the rear quarter windows? Also links to the site where you can buy them would be great. Thanks

Here is a picture of the ones I got from Restoration Specialties, http://www.restorationspecialties.com ask for Todd, he can set you up with a set. The only thing you will need to do is take the little plastic button off your originals that is riveted on to the front section nearest the door jamb and attach it to the new ones.


One thing I noticed is that there are gaps between the quarter glass seals and the door jamb caps, even with the originals near the door jamb that allow water in, so I am looking at a solution for this problem.
