Hi folks, I am looking for some info on hidden vin locations on a 74 charger I just picked up. I verified the 400 engine and 727 are correct numbers matching. The diff is correct according to the year. I did locate the correct number on the rad support BUT can’t find a number on the wiper cowl. As far as the previous owners son knew there was no reason to change anything on the cowl area.

Is there in fact supposed to be a vin stamped on the cowl? And if so where would it be as I’m at a loss?

I also read that there may or may not be a number on the trunk seal lip area on the left side. I removed the seal and no numbers were seen.

If anyone can share their input and knowledge I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

Tim.

PS, I do have the correct fender tags and have had them deciphered.

Radiator support and the cowl. The cowl stamp is normally under the hood seal in the area above the wiper motor/master cylinder.

I checked everywhere along the top and under the hood seal. The number may have been sanded down too much. I will remove the cowl cover and get in there with a scope, maybe it is still visible. Wish me luck. I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks hanks73340, found them exactly where you showed, but they were very very thin. Had to get the exact light to see them.
