my new driver's side floor pan came in the mail yesterday from roackauto. the cut quality and bends are not that great. i guess thats why it was $67 and not $150.

i fit the pan into the floor, and it seemed to go in well except for the front behind the pedals... there is a bent L shaped piece . not sure if i should cut it off or if it has a purpose? any thoughts? it is keeping the pan from laying flat

Just got my KMJ performance hei distributor and fired the car up!! Started up so easy woohoo! The car would idle before but not anything else. It would backfire and shoot lots of fiery flames. I drive the car into garage BARELY and when I took the ignition coil off, I could hardly hood it, it was so hot! Don't know why.

Anyway. I'll set my timing tomorrow

I'm also going to get rid of the ignition control boxes and the seatbelt safety switch mounted on the firewall. If I have time this weekend. I will open up the wiring harness and remove ask the corresponding wires

Got the car timed and I also had to remove the needle and sest on the primary side because it was sticking open. The car is running awesome!! Going to hopefully start taking measurements and such tomorrow for the floor pan replacement

if the needle and seat were sticking you should take a sniff of your oil to make sure not to much gas got down there! easy way to roast the bearings.

Thanks guys. I will change my oil before the car moves again. Thanks for reminding me about getting fuel in the oil.

I got alot done on the car today.... got my new floor pan installed and got rid of the rest of my other interior rust.

Im going to prep and spray the interior with some rubberized sound deadening coating tomorrow and then order my carpet and buy some padding!
