1974 Road Runner hood decal question

Has anyone seen a '74 RR that came with stripes, NOT have the hood stripe applied (engine callout only)? Car is black with red stripes.

I was looking at some old pictures of my RR from back in 91 and noticed that the hood has the engine callouts, but no red stripe like the rest of the car.

The fender tag shows the stripe option, and I don't see any sign of the hood stripes ever being removed.

Was this an option?

I have a 73 Road Runner that only had the hood callout, so you could definitely get that in 73 - I have to believe it would be the same for 74.

the hood blackout was a separated option, coded V21 on tag . Being painted it was just semigloss black ( no color option for this ), so on colored stripe cars the hood could be easily not treated.

and as you can see, neither in black stripe cars are directly related.

Thought I've seen white hood stripes and red (on a TB3 petty blue car even).

Are you talking about the optional V9 hood stripe? (The side/roof V8* stripe was standard) If yes, then some cars will have them and some won't.

Maybe. I say that because Chrysler dealers during the old days would work with you to get you to buy a car. They did things that may not have been on the option list.
