I’m rebuilding the suspension on my 1974 roadrunner and ran into an issue locating the correct front control arm shaft.

I have a single shaft that runs through both pivot points on the control arm, but when I search for a replacement I don’t see anything like it that is listed as compatible with my year/make/model.

What I do see that looks like what I currently have

seems to be a style used by gm,Oldsmobile, Pontiac, etc. Do I have the wrong control arm shaft in my car that I am now replacing or am I missing something?

Thanks

That is the correct part but not made as a replacement piece as far as I know. Good used is all you will find for the shaft. They were serviced as a whole unit.

Not available.

The bushings are available and will need to be pressed on with methods not described in the manual.

There is a tool that operates with a wrench but is tedious.

I used a press and pipe segments along with large bar stock bent to conform to where the support points are.
