im currently trying to convert my rv2 system to newer freon. I need new hoses and it seems like nowhere makes them for 73-74 satellites. how would I go about making my own and what else do I need to account for when converting to modern refrigerant. I have a new dryer/evap coil, new o rings, new thermometer, stock rv2 compessor and stock insides (stuff under the dashboard) help me out im looking for tips.

Are yours damaged?
My system was converted to 134 prior to 2012 and the original lines were used.

There are places that crimp hydraulic hoses.
The one near me said they can do AC hoses, too.

the hoses leak im pretty sure (won't hold vaccum). plus they are the originals so I assume they have dry rotted. should I just fill in with 134 with a dye and see where it leaks?

You should be able to find a local place to put new hose on your original lines.

I converted my 74 and used the original hoses,no problem blew cold air.

did u have to do anything with the compressor to convert it?
I believe I replaced the o-rings to green, changed the dryer and that was it. Remember you will not be putting same amount of freon in. Less of 134

I forgot this also DRAIN THE COMPRESSOR OIL AND REFILL WITH 134a COMPATIBLE OIL (PAG or Ester Oil) Most systems using the stock RV2 compressor use 11 oz.

is there a special way to drain the compressor oil or do I just turn it upside down for a day?

should be a drain plug on I think pass side. Pull and drain. If pos tip it if out of car. Done
