I ran across this car when he was asking $1700. Down to $1000 and still for sale. It is a 318 2 bbl column shift car. Doesnt run because the carb is bad he says. A/C dont work either. Needs to let it go but will need towed.

What should this sell for if it ran?

I would buy it for $1000. It doesn't seem beat up.

Yup, not a car I'm excited about but for a grand I'd bring it home & get it running.. Put it on eBay someone will pay to much for it...

Look at that row of electronics on the firewall...
ECU, two emission related gizmos, voltage regulator, ballast resistor, wiper motor....

Yep get it running $1500 tops but more than likely about $1000. These were very good cars just not a lot of fans of them. So unfortunate. There is a small cult following of the 4 door models. Anyway I love mine.

I'd buy that in a heart beat! Come to MI and look at the rust $1,000.00 will get you.
Mike

Why not post this on FCBO. If you have a link to an ad I will post it there if you want?

I told the guy that that car is not one of the really desirable body styles. They dont bring much money in excellent condition. Non running like it is, he should cut that price in half and it will go.

How did the seller react to that statement?

He said that he has seen some similar cars listed for around $5000 or more.
Hope he realizes those $5000 or more similar cars most likely run. If he wants that kind of money he'd may want to replace that carb.

That just makes too much sense now doesnt it. A replacement carb has to be only a couple hundred or less. Unless...... there is more wrong with it than just a carb.

Exactly what I was thinking. Sort of like when the a/c in a car "just needs a re-charge", lol. Of course the seller may not be mechanically inclined, or simply doesn't have the funds to tinker it up. I myself would be inclined to buy it for the quarter panels, a few spare parts, and sell the rest.

If that was a 77 or 78, I’d be very tempted to open the piggy bank. I am a sucker for that powder blue color but I never liked the round headlights for 75/76.

It's a shame that they are not more popular. That was a nice car when they came out. The problem with that one is it's a "Plain Jane" compared to the loaded, more dressed up, 360 ci models. I'm thinking he would need to have it in running, driving condition to move it.

Ya me too. This is mine round headlights and all, lol.
