Good god man.....Love to help you out on your 1986 GTX, but I haven't a clue what you are talking about. Maybe list the symptoms?

Is it OK if I phone a friend???

:p

There is the brake light bracket under your dash. You need to put the dome light wire (mine was red) to the battery (fusebox). And then put that on the bracket. Then put the brake light wire (yellow) on the other side of the bracket. That way the brake lights get power when you press the brakes instead of the dome lights.

Brake light switch lookie like this

I only understood what you said because this same thing happened to me ... ish...

Sorry for the slip up 1968 GTX car was totally rewired this just happened out of the blue

Ruthless bunch here sometimes

chit happens...LOL... of course it's not wired correctly, if the interior lights come on when your stepping on the brakes, kind of obvious I know... I would trace the affected wires back, & refer to the Factory Service Manual for proper configuration...

Thanks for info but it was a blown fuse

Sorry, I don't buy it.

Only a blown fuse? Why did the fuse blow in the first place? Fuses do not normally blow unless something happens or they get overloaded by aftermarket add-ons.

Could you have an occasional short that blew the fuse? Unless you have a good idea why the fuse blew, I would still look carefully at the circuit that blew..
