$2,500 Big Block console 4spd B-body project, Solid roller!

OK so the ebay auction didn't work and I need to move this car so $2500 gets it with all of the parts I have been gathering for it! Can't even believe it has come to this, damned economy! That is THE ONLY reason I can think of that a factory BB console 4 spd Charger won't fetch the money that we all know it's worth, I don't care what year it is!

Remember my 1st post in your 1st for sale add for this car?

"Although I LOVE the early Chargers many don't and they are the stepchild bottom rung on the value ladder for Mopar B bodies.

You will likely get more money for it parting it out. You will have to check out the dash lighting sytem to see if it is in working order as that is a big item. The rear tail light assemble and lense is a big ticket item if good. The head light, motors, grille assembly brings pretty good money as well. There are more 66-67 Charger specific items then most think. The rear quarters/wheel wells are different from the Coronets with a MUCH bigger wheel well."

They don't get much love in the hobby. However, those that have them and need parts for them DO step up and pay the price for them.

You are right 696pack, I just thought this one being a silver over red big block 4 spd car would make it a sinch to sell. For that price it comes with 2 clusters an a fresh power inverter from the Gauge Doc and a 4 spd console that is complete inc. the harness most of the tail light and head light/grille parts. This is a very nice deal on this car!

sadly in this economy, some cars are worth more in parts than for sale.
you should see what some full sized muscle two doors are being sold for, let alone four doors.

it means the end for many cars which is too bad.

I saw a 77ish Nova 2 door on it's way to the scrapper the other day, and almost flagged them down. I'm sure someone needs those parts and or the whole car.

Know the feeling...

Hello there Detmatt1. I am in the Detroit area as well and have been building my 66 Charger now for a couple of years. It "is" a love it or hate it car. I love it because you don't see it all over the place like all the other cars. Most shows will only have a couple or none at all. I was a, ugh, chevy guy, but Camaros were everywhere and I went with my 66 project. The Chevy's are dirt cheap in comparison to build, but all Mopars have more AWE factor and get more respect at any show. Almost done with this one, then my next project will be a 1968 Satellite or a 1969 Coronet. Again, not the money reaping reward cars when done, and not the most popular, but they are bad *** cars that speak the loudest where it matters the most... at the track or on the street !

p.s.... if you do ever decide to part her out....I would like to call first dibs on the 4 speed pedal set up..... please !

Here's a few pics of my pride and joy.

Take care, John.

I personally LOVE the 66-67 Charger.

Pros and cons:

Pro Unique fast back body style
Con Many don't like

Pro Full length console on the 66
Con Change by Dodge for 67 so you could enter the rear from either side--why??

Pro Cool hidden headlights
Con Expensive to fix.

Pro Cool dash lights
Con Expensive to fix

Pro Cool looking full width tail light lense especially when set up with the sequencial
turn signals like the old T-Birds
Con Expensive to replace.

Pro Cool looking interior
Con Makes for the heaviest B body

Pro Largest rear wheel well for the 66-67 B body and they look great with big wheels &
Tires

Pro Great all around overall car with the fold fown rear trunk panel and rear seats. You
can sleep/whatever in it, you can use it like a truck/station wagon

Pro You hardly EVER meet yourself driving down the road like in a Camaro.

Interested

I fixed my head lights with some hard wired toggle switching and said to hell with the relay setup. It's been working for two years now on a daily driver and I haven't had any problems with it.

Now the dash lights are expensive...but they are damn beauties. Hypnotising at night.

It is a heavy car. Something that has always bothered me about it compared to the similar sized Coronet, and Belvedere bodies.

I've used the back of my car to sleep in twice, once on the Hot Rod Power Tour. Hauled a book shelf home after two guys offerd me their truck.. Had the enough room in the back after folding the seats down and the trunk divider.

Tell me about it! I thought for sure, even with the limited fan base, that this car would be gone by now.

Please OH please slap a big block in that thing and lay rubarb till your face falls off from the ship eating grin you will have from power shifting that thing! Nice car, if I didnt have ten million cars and only 2 parking spots I would buy it!

Ha Ha, Somebody needs to do that and I didn't think it was going to be me. I also have several other projects that are in line before I would put anymore time or money into this one.

SOLD IT!!!!!!!!!! Finally, well at least I took a deposit on it. 18 year old wanted it badly enough so he and his dad can restore it, perfect!

Congradulations Matt, I was surprised how long it took to sell.
