No, we're not getting started on the 2019 NHRA "Pick 'Em" game this early. I'm just asking for some suggestions.
The NHRA released their 2019 National Event Class Schedule and combined with their earlier decision to only run an 18-race schedule for Pro Stock cars it throws a little bit of a monkey wrench at the way the "Pick 'Em" game has been run in the past. Historically, the "Pick 'Em" game has had only three Pro classes at eight National events because of the 16-race schedule for Pro Stock Motorcycle. Now with the 18-race Pro Stock car schedule there are four National events where Top Fuel and Funny Car will be the only Pro classes competing: Houston, Topeka, Bristol and Epping.
The Factory Stock Showdown class would be interesting, since Mopar is a big-time competitor, as a replacement but the only one of the above listed events they'll be competing at will be Topeka.
Pro Mod would also be interesting but Epping is not included on their 12-race schedule.
Top Fuel Harley will be competing at all four of the above listed events as part of their 10-race schedule.
So, whatcha wanna do? Following are some options...
* Do the "Pick 'Em" game as before but with only two classes (Top Fuel and Funny Car) at four of the 24 events
* Add Pro Mod as a 5th "Pro" class. But there would still only be two classes for the game at the Epping event
* Add Top Fuel Harley as a 5th "Pro" class. This would provide a minimum of three classes at all events, and five classes at both Gainesville and Indianapolis.

Think about it and post your opinions back to this thread. I'll take all of your opinions under consideration and let y'all know when the 2019 "Pick 'Em" game rules are posted to this thread sometime around mid-January.

Thanks!

More work load (?), more hassles (?)
if your willing. I'm in

AS long as
we are informed what events have what classes
prior to each event, regularly every week same day etc.
so everyone doesn't get confused who runs @ what races

but it'd be more work for 'game master' @ocdart

I'd like to see,
unfortunately most * below aren't shown/nationally televised
unless you have NHRA Access for $119.99 a year, to get all the classes

I see 7 possible viable classes
It may be way too confusing, for the casual NHRA fan

1320' show

Factory Stock (some MoPar representation)
not shown/televised regularly either

*Pro-mod (some MoPar representation)
they do have a few televised races,
but it's hit & miss on when they show them on reg. TV, FS1

*Pro-stock cars (very little MoPar representation)
barely even see them in the last few years of TV coverage
on FS1 or Fox

*Pro-stock motorcycles
very little TV coverage either, like an afterthought on FS1 or Fox

'their all in' for the 1000' show
Top Fuel Dragsters

Top Fuel (Coupes) Funnycars

I'm not a big fan of
*Top Fuel Harleys 'at all', I'm not impressed at all
I don't really care about them, I rarely even watch either
1/2 of them rarely don't even make it down the track
or only run 1 qualifying passes, or broke,
then most of those, we don't get to see either
when they're on
IMO it's a good time to get up & make a sandwich, get a beer or pee...

*
they do have a FS1 show for a few of the sportsman classes
but it's not reg. programming & it's on at strange times

* now all are on, a limited race TV schedules basis
unless something has changed drastically, since last I saw/read

let US know enough time before the, Pomona, Winter Nationals
so we can do our research not go into it blind

my $0.02 cents
