2021 Jeep can't turn 50K RPMS......(a little Friday night carnage)

50K is 50,000 No wonder why it blew up! LOL

Friend of mine bought a little chevy aveo from the auction that they did that to. Crazy seeing a 4 cyl that almost cut itself into 4 slices. Was towed for miles in 1st gear.
Makes you wonder how common this is.

I hope the camera monkey had the owners permission as well as the dealerships permission to post that video.

You can't identify the jeep owner or the dealership from the posted video so whats it matter...

Insurance job? Total loss ?!?

Junk Each & Every Part.
Just Empty Every Pocket. Years ago, my son had a YJ. Total piece of crap. I used to tell him that if U.S. Army had these in WW2, we would all be speaking German.

Junk Each & Every Part.
Have to disagree...I've owned this one
since new. 42 years old and still running
strong.

I'd need to see the math to believe that rpm estimate.
No way an engine can turn that rpm , running or being dragged.

Ummmmm.........isn't that the point?

If you read the article I linked to, the author did some quick math and that's how he came up with the RPM. Math isn't my strong point, so I'm just gonna leave it at the engine was spun too high.......

Okay, here's the numbers....

Axle 4.10
trans 1st gear 4.46
Transfer case low range 2.72
Final ratio 49.7

Stock tire size 285/70-17 = 635 revolutions per miles @ 60 MPH the tire spins at 635 rpms...

So if towed at 60 MPH the actual engine RPM if nothing else were to lock up... 31,559.5

Not 50K but well past redline....

Saying it once wasn't enough? Or did you just copy and paste from the other site?

The reason I hate comments like this is because if you're in public, YOU ARE BEING FILMED. And, there are plenty of websites that show what's being filmed. If you think you're NOT being filmed while you're out and about, wake up, this isn't the 1950's.

In the video I posted, the owners name was never mentioned, the dealer was never mentioned. You do something that stupid, its gonna get recorded and posted somewhere.

If you hate comments like this quit posting. I or anyone else is aloud to have an opinion. My remark was about the guy who posted the video. Again my opinion. I never once directed anything towards you.

Kern and 1 Wild. If you read the article posted in the op’s link it shows the math. The rubicon has a steep ratio for 4 low and the math came out to a few hundred less than 55k rpm. It sounds like they were flat towing behind a motor home. Probably didn’t even know anything happened until they tried to start it.
