22in to 26in radiator

When I bought my 70 Challenger many years ago, someone swapped in a 26" radiator without cutting the opening from the 22". They just drilled a couple of new mounting holes on the passenger side. It cooled just fine but they also upgraded the fan and shroud to the 26". If you went that route, I doubt your Charger would notice. Or anyone else for that matter.

Bolt it in, I reused my driver side holes. I didn’t cut the opening.

same here. Had a aftermkt 22inch that refused to keep the car cool ( unknown manufacturer )
Replaced it with a 26icnh ebay radiator and nos shroud and never had a problem after that. Cooled the car right down
I didnt make the opening any wider should some owner down the line decide to go back to the 22inch.

I live in the valley of the sun and need all the cooling capacity/ efficiency I can get

I bought a 22" to 26" adapter kit from Glen-Ray Radiators in Wausau, WI. It consists of four plates that extend the 22" mount locations and allow a 26" to bolt up with no drilling. Used it on a '70 B body. Not sure if they have something for a '66. It worked out really well.
Thanks for the heads up, just purchased a kit from Glen-Ray, it's already arrived, very well made.
