23 spline into a 440

Find a little truck or van with 4 spd and od. Will even have the larger bearing retainer. I haven't yet tried matching one to a big block belhousing.

The 23 spline will take the abuse of a 440 with nitrous….not “sure” if you run slicks

I installed a 23-spline A-833 in my '70 GTX with the 440. It handled anything I could throw at it.....including the 6-BBL carbs, 4.10:1 rear end and Hoosiers for some racing. Never any gear problems.

That car did standing-start 3rd gear burnouts.

Most 4 speeds have 2 shifter positions! The right bell hosing and clutch/ throw out bearing and you’ll be fine! Mother MOPAR put 23 splines in cars with automatic transmission and 440 and 18 spline in 4 speed cars with the 440 and hemi
