295/65r15 mt's on the way

Boy, I hope these tires will fit without rubbing. About 10 years ago, I had 295/60-15 Hoosier QT DOT with the wrinkle walls. Fun tires for straight blasts, but on less than ideal roads, the back end wallerred around bad. Anyway, they didn't seem to rub on 8" wheels with centered offset. I wanted taller tire to offset the 4.56 rear. 72 Roadrunner is not a strip car, just a drive local, have fun car.
 
Thats a fat tire for sure.
 
Those are going to be tight. Most manufacturers recommend a wider wheel than 8" for the 295 series. Hope they work out for you. Be sure to post some pictures.
 
Yeah, I checked with MT and they told me 8" was okay for the tire. If I went with the Sportsman SR on the rear they wanted a minimum 8.5". Tires should be here Fri. afternoon. Hopefully I can get them mounted to check clearance and post pics.
