Just curious as to exactly what the difference is between b-body and c-body 3 speed wiper motors. The one on my 69 is bad and I have 2 from c-bodys just sitting here and was wondering what it would take to be able to use one of them rather than buying another from a b-body

If there are any differences ... Possibly the clocking of the "park" mechanism. This is changed by rotating the cover plate. If you notice there is a small tab that can be rotated into one of two slots on the edge of the cover plate. The other difference is possibly the arm that bolts to the motor.

The motors are essentially the same. The difference is in the number found on the barrel. This number designates year body etc. You may find harness plugs different but the wires are the same.

I am actually running a C-body 3-speed wiper motor on my 70 Roadrunner & have had it on there for MANY years. If you look at the first little wiper linkage arm, the one that attaches right to the wiper motor with a nut, you will see it has a "rounded" side of an otherwise "square" mounting hole. That rounded side makes sure it can only go onto the wiper motor one way. The wiper motor "stud" (under the nut where this arm attaches) has one rounded side on a square stud which matches up, makes sense?

The C-body 3-speed wiper motor has the rounded side of the square stud on the OPPOSITE side as a B-body wiper motor, so it won't directly bolts up...... for example, the C-body has the rounded side at 12 o'clock & the B-body has the rounded side at 6 o'clock....backwards, so to speak.

All I did was take a rat-tail file & round out another side of my B-body "first little wiper linkage arm" (so it's now rounded at 12 o'clock AND 6 o'clock). Now the C-body wiper motor will bolt up and work just fine, parks correctly, etc. I've been running mine that way for over 20yrs.
