'67 Coronet 500, 318. Guy I bought it from said it had a mild cam! Anyway all of a sudden it started to buck at cruise speed. When calling for power it runs great. I earlier changed metering rods to the ones Eddy guys said to try. Since have changed them back to OE. Carb is a 650 Eddy manual choke. I changed plugs and wires, points and condenser, fuel filter. I only use non-ehthanol gas. Have used dry gas and Sta-bil when trouble started. I really am not much of a carb man. Also doesnt like to idle in gear, (727 auto)

did it run ok before You did anything?

Probably lean and needs bigger primary jets. But thats a wild *** guess at this point. If your choke isnt flapping around causing it.

I am having similar problems, some idling problems, but when power needed seems ok, and bucks somewhat at higher rpm. I believe it's the carb. I have a 600 cfm Eddy, manual choke. I have gone thru the plugs, fuel filter, fuel sock in the tank etc. Have fresh gas etc. The car sat for a number of years therefore believe it's the carb. It ran good way back. I am looking into a new carb at the right price....... Hate to say it but if everything else checks out, a good rebuild or a new carb would most likely solve your problem.

The choke thing is a good point. Will check it out right now. And yes it did run ok before I did anything, but all I did is to change the rods and now they are the original ones back in. Maybe will rebuild it. Thanks, guys.

I think I found the bucking problem. While putting in new points today I discovered I could wiggle the dist. shaft around. So I thinking the bushings are shot. Never did bushings before, but cant be too bad. Thanks, guys.
