And again, more stupid stuff that should be easy.

Bought a Milodon windage tray for my 318 Poly and a set of their main bolt stud kits to install the tray (81182, specific for 318 mopar). Go to install and they are too short. Either less engagement in the block or on the nut. And no way the washers can be used. Milodon instruction sheet for the tray specifies 81151 (6" long, for 318, 340). Ok, call Summit and send the old set back and get the new set specified by THEM. Get the new set and too F`n long!!!!!! Threaded all the way in the threads are still way off from the main cap.

What set can be used with the Milodon 32230 tray? I am going to call Milodon tomorrow to see what they are smoking. It seems like a 5.5" would work. Right now I have $100 of new paperweights littering my garage.

Does a poly even use any of the LA stuff? I've never even worked on a poly in 45 years.

The poly does use a lot of LA stuff, or vice versa really since the poly was first, and that tray is advertised to work with the poly. But I had the same problem on the poly stroker I'm building. Could not make it fit so I left it off for now.

Can you cut them to proper length?

No, one set is too short to grab enough threads and one set is so long the stud nuts would hit the stud shank before it tightened. I heard arp makes a set that works. I got frustrated and left it off when I put my pan back in. It sits collecting dust now.

I just had your exact experience. First set too short, second set too long. But mine is a 1976 318LA. Did you ever find the right set of studs?

Please Do Not Wake The Dead. start a new thread. April 2016
normally I would but this isn’t a very common issue and the OP might have learned an answer to the problem in that time. Not sure why it bothered you now that I think about it. Sorry if it did

If you start a new thread, you should get some replies. As it stands, you have had none. It only bothers me in that you have a car problem and no answer or hint of a fix. And yes I have not paid proper attention to the age of a post before. Thought it had last reply the day before. Failed to notice the year.
