I just finished up giving my brother in law’s 340 a cosmetic makeover. It ran strong but leaked oil like the Exxon Valdez. After addressing the oil leaks he and I cleaned it up thoroughly and gave it a fresh coat of paint. It also got a new water pump, cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires, fuel lines and a bunch of other miscellaneous small parts.

While I’ve been busy working on the motor, he had the 833 gone through, the driveshaft checked out and the headers ceramic coated. In the next couple of weeks it will all go back into his ‘69 Swinger.

Anyway, I know y’all like pictures so here is the finished product ready to go…

See a Holley peeking under the air cleaner

The car has run mid 11’s so he wanted to leave the long block alone. Ronny wanted to be able to open the hood at car shows and not be embarrassed.. I think we achieved that goal…

What are the specs?

Looks very incognito!

...Edelbrock RPM intake casting ID's removed? X-heads, double pumper, Milodon oil pan (low-pro?) ....

Stroked to 418, big flat tapped hydraulic cam, head work, roller rockers. I don’t know the specs and I doubt Ronny does either. The builder was Chuck Lofgren, a local Mopar specialist with an outstanding reputation.
