340 vs 400 vs G3Hemi

Gee, a 5.7/6.1/6.4 is a bolt in with TTI mounts, so what hacking/fabbin' are we talking about?

Not doubting you but, I have never heard of that being no where near bolt in. Can you go into a lil further detail? If I do that im gonna do the 6.1

Sure. Get a 3g hemi, TTI mounts and bolt them to the engine. Rubber isolators form the auto parts store or poly loc's from Shumachercreative services. Bam!!!, drop the engine on your factory k frame. Now the detail stuff. Need to use an oil pan from moroso, canton, charlies etc. along with the matching pick up tube, this pan will be a mid sump pan. Power steering or not?, power is nothing more than getting a couple of hoses made to hook up from the pump to the box, manual...no hoses, move on. Ac?, new hoses to the compressor, no ac?, no worries. Headers get from TTI, done. Now, do you want to run aftermarket efi or factory? Aftermarket, msd, fast, megasquirt, accel etc. Factory, hotwireauto.com for the harness (plug n play with 5 wires to hook up) use an 05 truck computer and they can program it for ya (basically they can set ya up to get it runnin'). Fuel....tanksinc.com for an intank pump with sump (walbro 255), corvette filter/regulator and that's done. Any small block trans of your choice...auto...904, 727, 518, 500, 545rfe, 4-5-6 spd., but for a total drop in just use a 904 or 727 auto or a factory 4 spd. and your set. Check my thread...www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?1618-late-model this will give ya an idea of what you can expect. Last thing, radiator...use what ya like. Oil filter adapter will need to be the 45 degree from a 4x4 truck or I think, durango. This is a part that can be had from the dealer or hotrodlane.cc they also have alot of stuff for swapping the engine. Hope this helps.

Bouchillon is really proud of the stuff....but they know their stuff.

I don't get it. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not jumpin on you, but you included the new Hemi in your original post but you keep shootin it down at every turn. Why were you even thinkin about it to begin with then?

These G3 hemi's literally are a bolt in drop in swap with a few fuel mods. I really think you should do your research here. I did my own mounts and it took me about 2 days total fab between the trans and engine. And that was purely so I didn't have to pay the $133 for the tti conversion mounts. 5.7 hemi should know best, he put one in his car so his testimony here should be pretty solid. I don't have mine running yet but I have a factory computer with hotwire harness and I have less than $1500 invested in my engine combo. And the only reason mine isn't running is I haven't had enough time to finish the installation since I have to do my work in my driveway.

Either way, whatever you do, it should be a fun car but if you want a mean street machine with fuel injection and good road manners, go late model hemi.

That's what I thought. I know I have read articles in the mags about how easy a swap it is....that's why I was wonderin why all the opposition. Course, like you said, whichever way, it'll be cool.
