I'm runnin a 2330 in my 383 66-300, not to lumpy but noticeable. It's the largest I could go without swappin the converter, didn't want to do that. It's by no means a burnout king, but it's a great freeway flyer w/a 3:23 rear which is fine by me. I would think with a 4 spd. it'd give you what you want. I would trust a Hughes recommendation, maybe go the next smaller?? I'm sure others will chime in.

Steelone we put that cam in my cousin's nicely restored 68 roadrunner/383.. it was a fairly stock setup with a 750 DP/4 speed car, similar to yours he's been very happy with it. Nice street cam. Not too rough of an idle but a little sound to it...makes good torque and moves well, he drives it everywhere, with a 3.73 gear....for what you seem to want that should be a nice cam. You said manual brakes, did you mean power? (Manuals don't use vacuum so cam choice doesn't affect brakes) Oh and....love the Ansen's! Ol' school rims!

Ya dude! That would be a good cam for a street 440 too
