LOL !
OK, you chimed in Jim... so I get to pick on 'YA !
Speaking of "additions"
I mean it here...
What would it take for You and Cody to start offering a decent prepped, YOUR ported version of the Stealth, that guys could then "seriously" consider between 550-600hp builds ?
Drop Ship... YOU port & prep... then off to the Customer ?
Sorry for the rant here....
but IMO, it's getting ridiculous the "HOLE" in the marketplace between the Eddy/Stealths.... and the next step up to INDY EZ etc., etc ?
equaled only...
by the amount of Guys even THINKING that Eddy's/Stealths are good to go O.O.T.B. for 500+ hp... little-lown 493 Strokers etc., ??
I mean I know you guys are busy enough already...
but,
Would you guys consider starting doing it ? What Volumes would you need to see to make it worthwhile ?
Everything needs a little qualification and depending upon the circumstances (engine build), no two sets of heads would be the same.
So, what if someone drop shipped a pair of
bare Stealth heads and we prepped them so the
heads (not the engine) were capable of 720+ HP, but we set them up for a flat tappet cam of .550" lift with valves, springs, retainers, locks, seals and spring locators? What would that cost? $2,235 plus shipping.
Good to 640 HP or so? 'bout $1,835 + shipping
Good to 550+ HP or so...........$1,315 + shpng
These costs are associated with customer supplied (the way I like it) bare heads and we supply all new hardware, valves and blah, blah, blah.
Can it be done cheaper? Sure! I get people who balk. So I tell 'um, 440 Source will sell you a pair of CNC ported Stealth heads for $2,200 including shipping. How many pair do you want?
We've done clean up and changed the locks and retainers on Stealth heads supplied to us with all Stealth parts, for $500 and they go right at 550HP dyno'd on a 493 with a flat tappet.
What has been the difference in dyno contests between our 451 engine with RPM/Stealth and others? About 130 HP.
You choose.
