Performer 383 vs RPM Air Gap

Yea I am running the factory Roadrunner air cleaner. 13" Diameter. I did some research for those who may read this and need some info. The P/N for the 13"x2" filter is WIX 42070 which came on the 63-64 Mopars. The 13"x2.5" filter which is a touch small than the 13"x2.75" standard Mopar filter to give ya some room is from a Mercury and Ford and the P/N for that is WIX 42113. Now when I lose my post it with my filter part numbers on it, they will be listed here for me when I search for it. Double bonus!

Also see my post from awhile back on filter heights with the part numbers listed for the unsilenced air cleaner. This is how I gained hood clearance without dropping too much with a drop base. All you need is 1/2" or so which the filter will do. See the above info I figured out.

Thank you for reminding me on those part #’s. I did the ol Play Doh test and it looks like I have 2” clearance. If I factor in .25” engine movement, I should still be good. I can add a drop base for even more room.

Yup and you can use a shorter filter instead of the drop base if you only need 1/2" or so also to keep more air moving into the carb. Less restrictive.

on my 67 RT I had to cut the intake carb base a 1/4" so I could keep my under hood installation.
