I am having trouble trying to find what this engine come out of. It has what looks like a vin number underneath the bellhousing on the bottom rail where the oil pan mounts. Its a 1967 383.

vin on it says - PT383P22571647
engine id pad is D383 Maltese cross, 10, 2
and number on side of block is - 2468130

Any help would be appreciated. I tried the year one decoder but I couldn't seem to figure it out.

That's not any vin #, that would be located up on the top of the block near the oil pressure sending unit and the mating surface to the trans if it is stamped at all. Even if it's stamped, you will be hard pressed to determine what it came out of.
The D383 does denote it being from a `68 model year car that was stamped on 10/2 of `67. No HP stamp so it was either a 383 2bbl car or a 383 4bbl with a.c..

Ok, ill look again for a different vin maybe. Guess ill never know what it is out of..

...No HP stamp so it was either a 383 2bbl car or a 383 4bbl with a.c..

The "P" tells us it was a 4bbl car. It could be a 383-4bbl from a Charger, B body non RR (too early for SB) or C body.

Could also be from a RR or Bee with a.c.

RR with A/C, yes; and you covered that above. (The engine is too early to have come from a SB) I was just pointing out the other possibilities of a 383-4bbl non A/C car.

The maltese denotes that it has at LEAST one undersize bearing on the crank from the factory.
