hey guys. i have a 1973 plymouth roadrunner. i was thinking about throwing a 4 spd in this car. my question is since i have a 727 automatic in it i was wondering if there are holes on the firewall for my pedals. does the 4 speed pedals bolt in the same holes on the firewall as the automatic ones do. thanks guys

It's been my experience with the older cars that all the "stuff" is in place. Stuff like dimples in the firewall to punch the necessary holes and add bolts. The clutch pedal bracket for the 60's cars is just an addition to the main bracket that holds the brake pedal and I expect the later cars followed suit. You should need only the shorter brake pedal (or a saw and a belt sander), the longer pedal shaft, the extra bracket for the clutch pedal and a few bolts. Add the hole for the clutch rod and weld on the ball stud bracket. If the later cars are anything like the older ones, getting the over center spring in place while under the dash will have you inventing new curse words!

The actual pedal hanger assy is the same. Clutch cars have another bracket to the outside of the clutch pedal and there are dimples in the firewall that will need to be drilled out. The hole for the clutch rod is there but has a rubber plug in it. If you are using a diaphram clutch, don't sweat the over center spring.
