Here is one other thought. The wedge blocks are just about identical bolt wise. You do not see the wedge upper row at a lower torque spec.

inner studs on a hemi are at a 3 degree angle

Thanx everyone for your thoughts and experiences,ill take this question to a few more hemi gurus who have been in the hemi game for a long time,everyone of them so far say 30 pounds so thats where im at,thanx

Hi John, really boils down to strength of the block and heads. Understand, the inner valley studs do very little for head retention anyway. Too much torque, and you can distort not only the upper bore, but the intake seat in the head as well. We use super strong KB blocks and Stage V heads. We torque them 50# max. Tim@FHO
