I have a 68charger with a 383 that I am removing and installing a 426 hemi, looking for help with a list of stuff I will need to make a smooth swap!!
I have flexplate and bolts ,ordered mototr mounts (Schumacher), TTI Headers, radiator,
So what am I missing Guys??
also were do I get a re-pop air breather assembly??it has an edelbrock intake and carbs
any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I am thinking you will also need a 426 long block with accessories.

Sorry I couldn't resist :). Seriously though, while I don't know much (anything) about hemi swaps, would the wiring harness need to change as well?

I did it on a 70 Superbee

I think there was a power booster offset for the hemi so you could service the head on the drivers side. The other thing was larger fuel line 3/8 inch.

I swapped a inline dual 4 bbl 426 street Hemi on my 440 K Frame using the Schumacher engine mounts with Hooker headers. It was a bolt in swap. I did not have to use a different power brake booster, offset booster bracket or anything else special to make it work.

A large bank account?

Correct you are Richard.....The Hemi in my 65 Coronet is first hand proof.
Let me clarify no large bank account :( just a lot of expense.

Factory hemi had offset/bracket to allow valve cover removal and access to spark plugs. If you use an 8" booster it might clear. I remember the offset on new 69 charger my friend had.

The ofset booster is only needed if you plan to locate in a "a" body. Be prepared to have all your body orifices plucked for money. 8 Bolt fly wheel, use single carb if you want to make it easy to run. Theur is a c hrome plater listed on Ebay who sells the round garbage can air cleaner. Some times he sells for 599.00. Also get a big big skid plate and order the k member reinforcement kit from Magnum or from the mopar part guy Mega parts in coon valley WI. You might also want the Milodon Oil pan and dip stick tube to make life easier.. if the car had ac then you need to invert the blower motor back wards so it doesnt show in the engine compartment..

Larger torsion bars for the extra 150 lbs. of engine, although with your headers you might save a few pounds. Are you doing anything to the rear end? Transmission upgrade? Torque boxes?

I have a TCI trans , cooler, converter...rear end is a 83/4 , I might just leave it for now, I figure street tires will just break loose anyways....lol
Torsion bars I have

What block do you have? If it is a megablock, you can't reuse your factory 383 starter. The water jackets on the block are bulged out to accommodate the 4.5" bores. But, a common as dirt stock starter for dodge pickup trucks with magnum small blocks WILL fit just fine. (1994-2002?)

When running TTI headers with Schumacher Mounts, you have to cut the driver's side k-member mount (using their mount as a trace) per Schumacher's instructions.

!TRIAL FIT YOUR DIPSTICK TUBE, HEADERS, AND MOUNT BEFORE DROPPING IT IN THE CAR!
I'll post a pic of the tube shape that fits with these headers and mounts. Your 383 tube won't fit but the dipstick itself is the same length. You might be able to fabricate one out of 3/8 steel fuel line.

If you have column shift linkage, you might have to modify the 'z' bar to go up and over the header, I don't have a pic though.

Stinger makes a cheap fiberglass air cleaner base that you cut your own holes into for your carbs. $125+shipping, its far cheaper than anything else. (Sourced from AAR Quality Fiberglass)

I was able to use reproduction Hemi throttle linkage (sourced from Ray Barton) on the Edelbrock carbs along with a Lokar kickdown cable kit (from Summit).

You transmission dipstick tube will have to be bent as well. I put a torch on mine (out of a 383+727) and bent it with a piece of bar stock.
