I'm expecting my '70 RR to arrive shortly and have a question about the air cleaner base in a 440+6 air grabber car.
On some cars I see, the air cleaner has the high end in the front, others have it in the rear.
One video described this as a "rain shield" and showed the high section in the front.
It would seems to me that having that shield in front would keep the air cleaner element a lot cleaner
when the air grabber is used. I won't be driving in the rain, so I'm not concerned about water entering.
I plan to show the car and want it as correct as possible.
Thank you.

The shield in front is for non air grabber hood.

440-6 is correct. The front baffle is for non fresh air cars only. No need to baffle the front on air grabber cars because the fresh air hood seals on the base and isolates the element anyway.

And the air grabber has wide lip lid.

I stand corrected, here is the application.
