I’ve done it in two pieces (never again) and stuffed it in one piece from the top (tight squeeze), but never did it from the bottom.
I’d be grateful if someone’d show a couple pix and maybe ‘splain how it’s done from the bottom.

Great idea! i was just going to get rid of an old creeper but now I think I will keep it.That's the way I've always done it.....and if you don't have the tilting engine leveler, let the trans land on an old creeper to help guide it into place.

Liked cable myself.I would put the trans in first, it's easier to make sure the torque converter is seated you can sit in the engine compartment.
You just need to support the front of the trans. A heavy wire will do it.
