440 block pad decoding

I am curious about a few numbers on the pad of my 440 block. I believe it is a 1969 cause it is stamped
E 440 with the numbers in question underneath of this is an 8 and a 1 not sure about them and can't find any info on them either, anyone have this information?

OK! got it month of that year in 69 and the day, I thought that was it but, wasn't quite sure. Thanks
