I am looking to purchase the 75cc chamber version of the head for my 440 and wanted to make sure of a couple of things before I do. Will the stock 69 HP manifolds work fine with the heads? What sparkplug should be used in reference to its length ? My engine, using flat tops, 509 lift comp cam, edel air gap intake 750 Holley. Is there any issues with the distributor hitting the head?

pretty sure there's an interference issue with the angle plugs and cast manifolds on a couple of cylinders. i use a mopar electronic distributor with no issues on rpm heads. i did find on the rpm heads, pretty sure the e-heads will be the same, push rod length and rocker geometry problems.

Thanks for the information, maybe somebody can confirm the clearance issues of the exhaust manifolds. Really wanting to use the cast manifolds

Call Edelbrock? I had to remove some material from my MSD dist.

I am a fan of cast exhaust manifolds for a stock engine and I won't be putting tube headers on my current car (but have a set of Max Wedge ex manifolds waiting in the wings...).

In your case, if performance is your goal, headers should be No 1 on your list. Cast exhaust manifolds (even HPs) will severely limit the gains of having better heads, cam and intake/carb - it's very well documented.

If you are just putting the Eddy heads on as it's cheaper than fixing your iron heads, then that is another matter...
