440 Gasket sets

Hi all, Could somebody tell me if there is a difference in gasket sets for 440 HP and normal. Reason I ask is I was searching the net for a gasket kit and some said that they suited all big block except for HP. If there is anyone recommend a seller with the correct kit for a 440HP. Cheers.

i am 98% sure there is no difference in hp and normal block (gasket wise anyway).

Maybe the HP kit comes with 2 oil pan gaskets for a windage tray?

Gasket sets usually have more than what's needed for the various differences between model years etc but I've never bought a set that had more than one oil pan set. Also, I've never bought any after market gasket sets that had the steel shim head gaskets. Always had to go buy those separate and all the big blocks came with them, HP or not.

only diff i have seen is containing "hi temp" gaskets for the hp eng's.i would think it is only a quality diff in the gaskets since there is no real shape diff to the gaskets.

Thanks Cranky. Is it best to discard the kit head gaskets and buy separate? Where did you get yours from?

recommend getting cometic brand head gaskets also from summit racing, heard and read they are the best i never use the head gaskets form the kit, sorry should of mentioned that

Supercharged or high compression race motors will benefit from Cometic gaskets. For street or street strip use, the Fel-Pro PermaTorqs (PT) are fine, and much, much cheaper. Did I also say that they're much cheaper?
