440 header studs instead of bolts?

My A body uses studs for the 470, but did have to use a 6 point nut on the 2 stud on both sides as a 12 point was impossible for me to get a wrench on. So if I can do it in an A body, a B body should be a walk in the park.

I managed to get these 2" beasts on outside studs in my 64. It was tough though.

Cant use studs with my TTI 2" headers and I like the bolts best anyway with these headers and the CPPA headers on my sons Dart are the same. You can see how the second header bolt hole is oblonged because you have to start that header bolt first and then slide the header up to start the other bolts. Cant slide the header if I have studs in it. And the tubes are so close that its tuff to put a nut on some of them even if I could use studs. You may get away with studs on many headers as it seems many here do. I even had to grind one of the bolt heads thinner and I also mad a special header wrench to get at the tight bolts easier. I used a Snap-On flank drive open end wrench and cut it shorter and heated it and bent it some to get at the bolts easier. I don't mind the bolts at all as once I get the hard bolts started that I have to slide the header up to do then I put the two end bolts in to hold the header in place. Ron

Hello again.
Has anyone out there in Mopar land used studs instead of bolts for fastening headers to a
440 block. If so, what make did you wind up using. I know ARP makes a set that might
work but they’re super $$$.

Bought mine from Mr. Gasket on Ebay and they worked great. Cheap too.
