If I recall correctly, the year is designated by the letter - "T" in your case. 1966 started at "B" so if this is the case you have a very late block (1984?). The 030 I don't know about....

Thanks Stumper, I did some more seaches and came up with:
4 = 1974
T = Built at Trenton engine plant
440 = 440 cubic inches
But I still don't know what the 030 on the bottom line means

Wierd, I wonder if they code system changed over time?? My block has a date code of December 30, 1965 on the side (first run??). On that flat by the distributor (assembly dates) it has on the top line B 440 which I understood indicated a 1966 (B) assembled 440. the bottom line was a 2 9 which was the assembly date of Feb 9th...
I pretend to be no expert here, can some expert clarify for us?

In my readings Stumper I found this which might explain your problem.
Then comes the assembly date of the engine, which is different from the casting date. The casting date is when the motor was poured at the foundry, which is much earlier then the assembly date. The assembly date is when they built the motor up at the engine plant, and this date will precede the scheduled build date of the car by a few days to a month or so.

Great reference Propwash. Been hunting for something simple like this for some time, thanks!
Still a bit confused as my numbers on the top do not include as much as the example stated. Might just due to the block being such an early one?
