Attempted to post this video twice today. Hopefully I've made the changes necessary for access by all. My first post was asking those with a fine tuned ear to listen to the idle of the engine. It's a 440 rebuilt to near stock specifications with the exception of a Hughs Whiplash cam. The right side exhaust sounds a little different than the left. If you listen you will hear a "pumph pumph" sound (as best as I can describe it). The exhaust has an "H" pipe and is currently directed downward at the mufflers (flowmaster) and will have the tail pipes installed when the rear bumper is installed. Engine seems to run fine, good oil pressure and runs cool. Maybe this is a normal sound or maybe not. Just need some opinions.

get a timing light on it. it sounds good. maybe could use some fine tuning mixture / timing wise.

hook up a vacuum gauge too. see how it behaves. I'd be looking for a regular "snap" in the needle. if its reasonably steady, no matter the vacuum it pulls, i think you're good. There are others here that will chime in.

Something sounds a little off ,did you degree the cam in and make sure it was good to go with the cam card? When you open up the throttle it sounded like it made a rattling or a bearing noise.I'd pull the valve cover pans and check the valves ,springs and locks.t The motor sounds to flat to me.Good luck.

Do the vacuum gauge and timing before tearing things up. The bog and the odd noise are probably two different things. Me thinks the noise is the exhust system it's self inside that garage. And maybe your a little nervous?

Will do the timing and vacuum gauge checks . Yes probably a little more nervous than necessary. After reading posts of problems surrounding breaking in a new rebuild and wiping out cam lobes gotta remember these old mopars are tough. :) Thanks for all the posts and will let you know the results.

Michael789. I degreed in the cam as per Hugh's instructions and cam card. Was spot on.

it seems to be shake too much, could be vacuum leak.
sound seems to be off, you will know when its right.
it fell flat on face when u hit throttle. sounds like the carb is off, how is the temp?
may be lean.
how is oil pressure?

what mods did u do to engine?
