I LOVE the cross ram look!!!! For a street car only in a dual Quad arrangement,,,,,, I would go with the cross ram "if money was no concern"... For any drag racing build, I would go with an inline setup, but not a factory piece...
So the answer is A:

BTW,,, You sealed the deal on NOT paying that over priced option by stating the engine would have Edelbrock "probably performer" heads!!!!!!!
You can do SO much better for your dollar!!!!! Not saying the Eddy heads are bad,,, just the 20,000 is WAY out of line!!!!

For instance, you could get a turn key, 440/505 ci with 4.25 stroke, Edelbrock RPM heads w/ big valves that flow 330+ cfm, cross ram, linkage, fuel lines, carburetors, flat tappet cam hyd or solid, adjustable rockers, dyno tested 650HP/650TQ pretty easy. $14,360. Hundreds of variations and prices above and below.

If I was trying to dress up a 440 to look like a Max Wedge I would make sure to have the crossram, avoid the Edelbrock or Indy heads that won't look right, and have metal fuel lines bent up that look orginal and avoid the braided steel fuel lines. I would think you could get it done for around $10,000 USD - $6000 decent 440 build + $4000 in Max Wedge goodies like the crossram, carbs, linkage, fuel lines, etc...

OK. Let's put the cost aside for a minute( I deal with that after this question)
If it was your car, Using a 440 Block, What would you like to see in it
a, the Max wedge intake cross ram
b, the inline dual Quads

I'm going to take 6 opinions, and go with the average
Then I will look into maybe the Crate on hearand add the top end components

Verdicts in, Cross ram max it is, just did some #,s from Summit, Mancini etc
Just talked to another well known builder up here, Total engine Dressed, including headers, MSD, dis, Belts, hoses etc etc, $12,000 Can
