No. I bought one from them and had to hone to fit it had a weird rib in the middle as well. Got it on but it was drama[/QUOTE
never had to do that on any engine I`ve built, be it hemi , 440, or chevy.Tip: when installing the balancer, put some sealant in the keyway to prevent oil leaking out there. This is not an issue with the 440Source balancer, its just the way those parts fit.
Two things come to mind. (1) If you have to heat a damper to install it......something is bad wrong. That is just not the way they are supposed to fit. And (2), 440 Source is one of the easiest places to deal with if you are having an issue with one of their products. I've had nothing but excellent customer service from them. Today being no exception.
I understand, it was difficult to get on. By golly, if you want to heat it up, that is what I think you should do.I've never had any problems with their customer service. I use tons of their products. Just had a difficult time installing the balancer. I don't make my living building these and right or wrong it's on now and has plenty of miles on it with zero issues.
I also had my weekends set aside, reserved to get the motor together and make the car run. I wasn't going to wait. Call 440source on a Monday wait for it to maybe show up on a Thursday and put me behind.
Again, my personal on hand experience with the dampener is that it was difficult to get on.
