Getting ready to fine tune my 440 that I put in a 67 Satellite. Engine has been broke in and just looking for any recommendation / Suggestions that could help aid in this process ? Camshaft Is Mopar Performance Purple Shaft , Duration 280 Lift 474 Centerline 110 Part number P4452993AE with Mopar Performance electronic ignition. Thanks In advance !

Good starting point, initial timing 8-10 degrees, max 36-38 degrees. Pretty much the standard for a long time.

Dont forget when you fire it up to bring the RPM right up to about 2500 and hold it there for about 20 minutes or until the eng is warmed up so you dont eat a cam lobe. Also I always have someone with me so they can check for any leaks and set the timing total while its warming up. Ron

Your setup sounds similar to mine. I'm running at 12 degrees initial and 36 total. If you are running a 4 speed you can run a little less initial, say about 8 degrees btdc. An automatic usually takes a little more advance because the engine is already under load at idle. You might have to experiment around a little to get it just right. When you go to a performance cam, the factory timing settings kind of go out the window. If your distributor has vacuum advance, that may need adjustment too.
