I bought a wrecked 2005 Durango with a 5.7 hemi with the 54rfe transmission, for swapping into a 66 Coronet the starter is mounted on the passenger side. But if using say the TTi headers they need the starter on the drivers side. does this engine/trans combo allow mounting a starter on the drivers side or am I outta luck ?

Thanks, Robert

You'll need a Ram version of the 545rfe.

Be easier to just run a straight pipe off the collector of the STOCK manifold. Worked great on my swap. I have not run it on a dyno to know anything for sure but I really do not see the return on investment for the minimal gain in performance all the hassle of header on the 3g HEMI swaps takes. Hell, porting/working the stock manifolds is probably less hassle for equal gain.

Easy for you to say, but the op may run into problems when the stock manifold dumps right onto the torsion bars.

You've got a point there!

Exactly, was not planning for the alterkation suspension with the stock manifolds. All the reading I've done seems to indicate the TTI headers are about the only way to go short of fabbing/modifying stock manifolds, I looked under the Durango and the transmission appears to have a block off plate where a drivers side starter might go. Ill give it a closer look when we pull the motor out, If I have to get a truck 54rfe trans then so be it.

Thanks, Robert
